A Frankfurt court issued a preliminary notice advising the Air Berlin pilots not to go on a planned strike which was scheduled to start on Wednesday morning. This would have crippled the operations of Germany’s second-biggest airline. Air Berlin has declared a sought injunction to avoid these types of activities announced by pilots’ union Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) dispute around working hours on long-haul flights.
We are just requesting to resume negotiations, Judge Frauke Denecke announced after a hastily called hearing on late Tuesday evening. The pilots have already called off the planned strike twice in this year and if this third strike will be called upon then the economic conditions of the airlines will be degraded in the current context.
VC spokesman Joerg Handwerg said Postponed is not abandoned, Germany’s biggest airline, Lufthansa earlier in this week took a strike and paid a cost of huge amount in the day long pilots strike.
