Leeds based budget airlines jet2 has announced that it is going to launch new flights to popular holiday destinations such as Spain and Portugal. The new flights will run from Glasgow Airport in attempt to cash-in on holiday hungry Scots. New services will begin from the next year from Glasgow Airport to Spain Turkey, France, Portugal, Tunisia, Greece and Egypt. Jet2 has paid attention to the northern airports and it is believed that Glasgow is the natural choice for expansion taking regular holidays on sunny hotspots. Some of them are Costa del Sol. From the initial destinations are Alicante, Nice and Majorca.
The CEO and founder Philip Meson, of jet2 believed that the airline has something which takes to stand above competition during the tough economic times. According to meeson we have all the flights of our own and we have not to take on lease from a finance company. Meeson took his own time to reassure that the passengers are safe. We operate a lot of charter flights and as well as contract with the royal mail, so don’t worry we will be around for a long time to come.
